Even at launch it was oddly slow, when there was k people on and now with the average player count being maybe 5k, high points being maybe near 10k and low points being 3k, it can take 20 minutes or so to get a match which is way to long for a game that still has a decent player count online. I even tried some big team, thinking that Invasion sadly died off but it’s the same issue. Getting into firefight is even problematic and that only needs 3 more people.
Is Halo down?
Master Chief Collection never made a similarly triumphant return, but it is a far better game than when it launched. The collection is now arguably worth owning an Xbox One for, assuming you like Halo of course, and is now the basis for a series of big Halo 3 throwback tournaments taking place throughout It was a long time coming. Halo Mcc Bug Report
Players spawn with plasma pistols and deal no damage besides assassinations, but I can’t turn those off in Halo 3. Aerial Elephant is a KOTH minigame where players have to dodge the flying elephant to avoid being knocked off the platform. Thanks again for the huge support and Good Luck grinding! There is a dedicated following of Halo fans that are not only extremely competitive, but they are extremely good at the game. After all, one of the advantages of Xbox Play Anywhere is the ability to continue your saves and play multiplayer across PC and Xbox.
If you’re currently butting heads with the Halo MCC Contacting Server issue, then here’s what you should try in order to get back to enjoying the Master Chief.
I can’t quite say this is the one I’ve been waiting for —that’s Halo 3—but Halo 2 joined the Master Chief Collection on PC Tuesday night, and it’s an ideal place to start really devoting time to Halo’s online multiplayer. It’s still fun, but not a game I’d dump hours of time into. Halo 2, even after 15 years, feels just deep enough. It’s still the kind of multiplayer game that can demands precision aiming, tight teamwork, and intricate map knowledge to master.
This is the moment on PC many Halo fans have been waiting for and after a few hours of testing I can say that if you plan to jump in now, be prepared to run into some bugs. As I wrote in my feature on Industries’ journey to bring the Halo series back to PC , there are some significant features still absent from the Master Chief Collection. Alternate keybinds are coming in a future update, and the developers are continuing to work on issues around screen tearing, which I ran into while testing Halo 2’s campaign.
Halo Reach’s audio issues remain, and are taking a long time to fix.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection will add support for cross-platform multiplayer later in , developer Industries announced, allowing those on Xbox One and Windows PC to play with each other. To make sure players are on an even playing field, mouse and keyboard support is coming to the entire classic Halo collection on the Xbox One.
But if you prefer playing on your controller and don’t wish to be paired up with PC owners, you’ll have that option too, with the arrival of input-based matchmaking alongside crossplay. The crossplay reveal for Halo: The Master Chief Collection was included in a giant development update blog post over the weekend. Crossplay and input-based matchmaking aren’t the only upcoming features planned for Server region selection will also be available with the aforementioned two, which should make for a smoother low-ping experience if you’ve had issues in the past.
As for mouse and keyboard support, that will be available in a later update with custom game browser and individual graphics options per Halo title. There’s no word on Halo 5: Guardians coming to PC.

With four — make that four and a half — products in one, The Master Chief Halo: The Master Chief Collection is a compilation of all the games in the Halo you won’t be able to do that on the public matchmaking rooms.
Despite a rocky launch, the 5-game ode to one of gaming’s greatest franchise pillars has demonstrated ‘s willingness to update, iterate, and innovate a multiplayer product years after initial release, all for just the price of the base game or an Xbox Game Pass subscription. The features were revealed in addition to others as part of a roadmap for The crossplay feature is supposed to release in conjunction with input-based matchmaking and server region selection, while the custom game browser should launch alongside per game graphics options and mouse and keyboard support for Xbox.

Quality of life improvements are also planned for the second half of Crossplay has been an increasingly coveted feature among gamers, not just for the Master Chief Collection, but for many games across the industry.
Even cross-platform play is often a requested addition, though, that appears to be more demanding of developers and is much less common of an implementation. The more features Industries adds to the Master Chief Collection before then, the higher chances any flaws with Halo Infinite will be given leeway by the community — within reason. With crossplay and a customer game browser on the list, fans will have the opportunity to interact with more members of the community, increasing their matchmaking options and setting the game up to meet more of their preferences.

Halo 3 battle rifle coming to ODST Firefight on MCC, matchmaking too
Halo: The Master Chief Collection will get an update today, that will address problems with the campaign, user interface and some party issues with matchmaking. But as noted in an earlier post, a patch to fix severe multiplayer matchmaking problems isn’t coming until sometime next week. Earlier today, Industries, rolled out an update that was aimed at improving the stability of dedicated servers and at setting the stage for future matchmaking content updates.
They even postponed the Halo pre-season championship tournament until the issue is resolved. What tonight’s update doesn’t include is a solution for the troubles that have plagued Halo players attempting to get into multiplayer matches in any of the four titles included in The Master Chief Collection. That fix is coming in a larger patch that’s focused on matchmaking performance, an update that’s scheduled to be released next week.

Surprise Release Adds Another Strange Twist in the History of ‘Halo’ on PC
The developer said in an update on the Halo website that cross-play, keyboard and mouse support on Xbox, and input-based matchmaking will be added to The Master Chief Collection by the end of That means console players will get the chance to team up with or fight against PC players, with the option to use a mouse and keyboard instead of just a controller. With input-based matchmaking you’ll likely be matched up with players using the same input as you no matter what platform you’re on – so I can’t claim I got “clicked on” when I get sniped from well across the map on High Ground.
Based on the post on the Halo website, cross-play, input-based matchmaking, and the option to select your server region will likely all drop together, with mouse and keyboard support, a per game graphics option, and a custom game browser releasing in a separate bundle.
Trying to get the Reach online achievements but I can’t find a game of Invasion, simply no one is playing most of the MCC matchmaking game types? Your best bet if playing on Xbox One would be to play in Competitive.
I’m using the Steam version of Halo Master Chief Collection on PC, which requires that the user be signed in to Xbox Live services to use online features like matchmaking. When I try to use those features after signing in, though, it tells me that I’m not signed in to Xbox Live, and cannot access matchmaking. I was able to get into custom games with my friends earlier this evening, and they were able to matchmake before I joined the party, but after I joined they stopped being able to do matchmaking, and we had to switch to custom games.
After they left, I tried matchmaking on my own only to discover this issue. I tried restarting the game, then verifying my game files on Steam, which didn’t help. Is my Xbox profile somehow suspended? Did this solve your problem? Yes No.

Each game in the Master Chief Collection received a graphical upgrade, with Halo 2 receiving a complete high-definition redesign of its audio and cutscenes that is exclusive to the collection.

The collection’s multiplayer features every map originally released with each game, including six Halo 2 maps remade from the ground up.
